plastic tubes

We always encourage all new tube tyers to start off with plastic tubes. They are a great way to "break in" to tubes and the quality of plastics available have increased exponentially. Plastic tubes of 15 years ago sometimes split and cracked when fished in the cold or were butted up too tight against a hook. With the new fly lines available, the weight of fishing a plastic tube is also not the issue it once was.
