tube flies
shumakov tubes

Before his death (2006), we were very fortunate to collaborate with Juri on several of these patterns. Juri's Long Range, Skittle, Weight Forward, and Summer Arrow tubes revolutionized tube tying. He was the first to begin tying on the inner plastic tubing and using the metal "outer tube" as a way to perfectly balance his flies. This tying technique of a "hybrid" tube (metal and plastic together) also created a pattern with a very small head, unlike standard and bottle tubes. The painted slots give these tube flies an indestructible yet attractive body too....another first in tube tying!
